National Strike In Puerto Rico

It`s incredible but 20,000 government employees have been given pink slips this year because the government is bankrupt. Unemployment rate here is at 15%. People with more than 10 years of government service have been booted out. People are so distraught here they`ve been seen crying in front of the TV cameras. Labor unions are calling for a strike against this government to start at 6 am, the 15th of October. An extra 15,000 police officers are being called into duty to pull 12 hr shifts. The National Guard might be called in if things get ugly. Most of Governor Fortuno`s family left the island for security reasons. This is an island heavily populated by Christians who are feeling the effects as well to the island`s economic instability. May God help us.
