World`s Oldest Bible Is Now On The Web
The world`s oldest surviving Bible, Codex Sinaiticus, has been finally digitized. More than 800 pages and fragments of the Codex Sinaiticus have been put together by institutions in the UK, Germany, Egypt and Russia. The original text was written 1,600 years ago and have been revised centuries later. Different parts of the Codex Sinaiticus were spread among different institutions: - the British Library, Leipzig University Library, the Monastery of St Catherine on Mount Sinai in Egypt, and the National Library of Russia in St Petersburg. As one scholar put it, “The Codex Sinaiticus is one of the world's greatest written treasures.”The Bible`s website is at, www.codexsinaiticus.org.
